Gold in them thar hills
In the comments field of a recent Jihad Watch article (on the new Congressmuslima, Rashida Tlaib, swearing in on a Koran), our new (soon to be old) friend Big W left another nugget of gold -- or a promissory note telling people where the real gold is.

Where did Hugh Fitzgerald get that quote from?
“It was written in their Koran, (that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy’s ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.”
That ain’t the quote i’ve seen. What I saw was
“The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”
Yup, ol' Big W is right -- again. For details, see my old essay on my now defunct blog The Hesperado:
I Struck Gold! Second Addendum to Primary Sources 101
I note I wrote that essay nearly 10 years ago, even then noting that Hugh Fitzgerald, among many others in the Counter-Jihad, were either getting the quote wrong, or citing inadequate primary/secondary sources for it -- or both. It was already impermissible for the Anti-Islam Movement to be so sloppy back then, let alone now.
