Notes on problems in conspiracy theory

Conspiracy theorists tend to indulge the following flaws:

1) no sense of the value of self-criticism

2) going further from #1, a positive hostility to those (even if they are fellow conspiracy theorists) who probe the theory with critical questions

3) no interest in speculatively analyzing to what extent the Cabal & its Conspiracy have weaknesses / limitations.

On #3, one reason why conspiracy theorists may tend to indulge that is because focusing too much attention on the weaknesses and/or limitations of the Cabal (and its Conspiracy) often is revealed by, if it is not positively connected at the hip to, #2 (viz., asking critical questions of the theory itself).

Twitter, like many (if not most) things in life, isn't all bad. When I swim around there, I bump into a lot of salutary and even heartening accounts helmed by people I'd say are more or less "in my Tribe". The question why would Twitter even allow so many accounts like that to flourish (accounting -- pun intended -- for the ongoing problem of accounts being punished in one way or another) is a persistent question that complicates the rational conspiracy theory; but is likely a fruitful question nonetheless (even if the fruit thereof is difficult to ascertain).
